It’s a partnership based on shared expertise. OMCO Metals is responsible for the castings that form the basis of our moulds. OMCO Moulds maintains contact with the glass plants, manages the repair of the moulds, and coordinates the take-back of used material. Together, we close the loop.
Reusability and repairability
Our moulds are not single-use items. Throughout their entire lifecycle, they are carefully maintained, reconditioned, and repaired. When moulds begin to show wear or signs of damage, they are not simply discarded.
Instead, OMCO Moulds manages a meticulous reconditioning process that restores their functionality and extends their lifespan. This not only reduces waste but also guarantees consistent performance for our customers.
Material recovery
Even when glass moulds reach the end of their lifecycle, they do not become waste. Thanks to the collaboration between OMCO Moulds and OMCO Metals, they are reintegrated into the production chain through material recovery. This process includes:
- Collection:
OMCO Moulds organizes the return of used moulds from our customers’ plants. - Reformation:
The collected moulds are sent to OMCO Metals, where the valuable metals are melted down. - New creation:
The recycled metal is processed by OMCO Metals into new, high-quality casting for moulds or other products.
This closed-loop system reduces the need for new raw materials and minimizes environmental impact.
